Software Quality Specialist

Validate system functionality by running provided test scripts for point-of-sale systems, looking for accuracy and compliance with functional requirements of requested changes. Perform testing beyond provided scripting utilizing good judgment and knowledge of the application and users environment. Ability to create and execute test plans for moderately complex modifications. Apply knowledge relating to database and operating system tools as needed, to complete testing requirements. Utilize knowledge of databases and SQL Language to create alters, obtain and organize testing data, and restoration of the database to execute complex testing requirements. Complete procedural and functional checklists relating to banner, system, integration, performance or regression testing as required by departmental procedures. Report, document, file and track all defects, supporting paperwork, suggestions, questions and discrepancies through proper channels. Perform necessary time tracking and activity status updates in project tracking system to ensure billing is accurate. Assist in preparation of customer test environment as required. This includes maintaining physical setup and connectivity of the system as well as, running version control process, application of software upgrades and needed testing files.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (ideally computer science or engineering) and a minimum of 1 year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
