Systems Test Analyst

Job Description:

* Analyzing existing systems, gather and document functional, system, security requirements for web-based, database-driven, and transactional application. * Interviewing SMEs, reviewing existing client-server applications – including source code (VB, .NET) and database schemas (Microsoft SQL Server & Access DBs), performing Business Process Reengineering (BPR) to unify business processes and integrate backend systems, assessing technical architecture of existing systems & working with a Sr. Software Engineer to design the system architecture, designing & developing UML diagrams using MS Visio, capturing detailed requirements (functional & technical) using Use Case approach, working with a Sr. Database Developer & map the data in existing databases & develop the integrated database schema, tracking and assessing requirement change requests, configuring the testing tool - Mercury Test Director for the project, writing test plan, testing web-based transactional systems – perform system-level functional, usability & accessibility (section 508) testing, tracking defects using Test Director.

Required Skills:

* Public sector/Government Experience * Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Computer Science w/ at least 3 to 5 years of related experience. * At least two years experience in a testing role in IT system test or system requirements development * Knowledge of full life cycle software development and software management skills. * Must demonstrate solid knowledge of software test principals and practices and system configuration management practices. Ability to comprehend and author test cases and plans. * Posses automated testing tools experience (preferably Mercury Test Director, Quick Test Pro, WinRunner and LoadRunner). * Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project * Must hold excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical subjects to non-technical persons * Must be comfortable representing the state of testing and discussing individual test reports with other team members, business users and project managers. The individual must be a good listener and communicator and must be able to work with individuals of disparate opinions to arbitrate test and problem report prioritization issues.
